These particular panels were for a Vertical Cylindrical Steam Superheater for a petrochemical site in Kingdom. Plastic sheeting was fitted to protect the lining during transit.
Ceramic fiber blanket insulations are much wildly used as high-temperature resistance materials in many industries, they are used as backing linings and enhance energy saving rate. How to use high temperature ceramic fiber in the right way when installing? Usually, we can see two methods:
The first one is to glue the ceramic fiber blankets or felt layers by layers, and then rivet them all together by bolts. Metal bolts will be used if the working temperature is below 1222 ?, while it is higher than 1222 ? ceramic riveting will be used.
The hot surface will be filled by refractory cement or bulk fires.
The other method is to use ceramic fiber modules directly, which are made of folded refractory ceramic fiber blankets. The size of the module is usually 305 x 305 x305 mm. The precast module could be installed directly coupled with the matching bolts and nuts. Compared to the two using ceramic fiber blanket insulations, the second one has a more energy-saving rate as the materials are all ceramic fibers from the furnace shell to the hot side, at the same time ceramic fiber module is easier to install and convenient to repair. But they are more expensive
